I pulled the trigger on a Vertex 30. It’s blue. oooh… ahhhh…
After test riding it for about an hour on roads, hills and some light singletrack, I bit the bullet and dropped the plastic dollars.
I instantly feel like a better rider. Hydraulic disc brakes are good at stopping bikes.
In the interest of fairness, you got something you’ve always wanted so now I get a puppy. I think that’s only fair.
I can’t see that happening.
I didn’t look at either the Rocky or the Specialized last night. But I will. I swear. Totally.
I did look at the Kona Kula Deluxe and a few Gary Fishers and Treks.
My first realization was that disc brakes are the bomb. I thought my current bike stopped quickly so I was surprised how much better disc brakes bring you to a standstill.
Shocking what happens when you upgrade from the Canadian Tire Supercycle you got in 1993 with the Milk Crate Basket on the back and the Shimano knock off components that you got from Chinatown.
…….SNAP!
Today is a good day for getting a new bike. New bike Wednesday!
Right now it’s down to this sexy Rocky Mountain Vertex and this manly Specialized RockHopper ( it hops rocks! ).
Test drives are hopefully tonight. Whatever bike I pick has to fill some big shoes. My trusty Thin Blue Line has been rocking trails for about 10 years now. A lack of front suspension and disc brakes are making me think I should pick up something a bit more modern.
I don’t know if you know me, Joe Rogan…..I hop rocks!!
I vote Rockhopper…but I’m biased towards Specialized.
Opinion noted. I’ve always liked Rocky Mountains. I almost bought a Hammer a while back. Hopefully the test rides will sort things out.
It’s been how long? A year? This June 4th ( tomorrow ) will mark our one year wedding anniversary.
Time has flown by and I wouldn’t trade a single second.
Look at the lines of this hot phone from SonyEricsson.
I’d like to have it without the added features though, just talking and texting would be enough.
It’s still not as hot as the hottest hot hot-phone, the Samsung P300
Sure it looks like a calculator from the 80′s, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t kick you in the back to have one.
Ya, the back!

Hah. Quite suspicious dont you think that this was implemented months before the legislation is even passed?
Is this about terrorists or the file sharing community?
One wonders….
