Nike MaxSight Amber Contacts: A review.

I picked up a pair of Amber MaxSight contacts from Nike/Bausch and Lomb.

[update]: here’s a followup review in brighter conditions.

Sport:
- Ultimate Frisbee

Conditions:
- overcast and raining, then clear but low hanging sun, not really that bright
- white disc against a dark sky

Thoughts:
- Light and dark colours stood out, for example green grass next to brown dying grass had distinct lines.
- The lenses act a bit like sunglasses as the sun was not as bright, I didn’t have to squint at all when the sun came out.
- The white disc against the dark sky and darker ground stood out like a light. It was surprising.
- When the sun had gone down it was too dark to feel comfortable driving at night, so I brought my glasses.
- Overall, I liked the difference, but I think that another test with brighter conditions would be useful. Overcast skies aren’t really the ideal conditions for these contacts.

Teammate Reactions:
- There were lots of doubletakes and one “What the f*** is wrong with your eyes!?”
- “Eye of the Tyler” jokes were made.
