I don’t know what made me think of this today. Remember second year when we went to the P.J. parade and never told any of the first years cause it was “tradition,” and when we were running from one spot on the route to the next, Hash wiped out when he was taking a corner?

      Memories

p.s. that screen makes your face look blue.

I remember everything about the PJ Parade.

      PJ Parade … you bastards!!!

    • randy 12:11 am on December 9, 2006 Permalink

haha “tradition”. you guys were jerks.

MacBook Pro: the giant slab edition.

Hopefully, at this time tomorrow I’ll be typing away on a new 17inch MacBook Pro. I traded in my Dual G5 about a year ago and I’ll be applying that credit to this beast.

I’m looking forward to “coming home.” I miss applications like QuickSilver and Voodoo Pad. And a real terminal. And a lot of other things.

    • Tyler 10:38 pm on November 24, 2006 Permalink

It comes with coupons for a chiropractor.

    Ozzy to win Survivor?

Beats me, but I hope so, he’s a cool dude.

Last night a took a disc in the teeth. I managed to hold on and not turn it over. Unfortunately, we turned it over a bunch of other times last night and got filled in, 46-28 I think. Ugly game.

Here’s a hot layout to make you feel better. Ian Brooks of the Bombing Mad Fatties in Australia.

Albert Hammond Jr, who is one of the guitarists for The Strokes, has a solo album, “Yours To Keep.”

I really like it a lot, and certainly more than Pitchfork like it.

    Metacritic link.

    Wii day

Laura and I will attempt to pickup a Wii tomorrow.

    Hope this works.

Update: Denied at FutureShop… the person right in front of me got the last one.
Still hope with Laura at Toys’ R Us.

Update 2: Laura FTW!! Picks up a Wii!!!

Update 3: Wii Sports is ridiculous amounts of fun. And PHOTOZ!!!!

Update 4: The Wii on standby uses 2 watts. Disappointing to say the least.

Nice! We tried a couple of places and were denied. Walmart was the same situation as you at FS. Hit up Zellers as the 5th person in line, but they said they only had stock for pre-orders. :(
Ordered my online at Sears. Back-order until 12/05. Ah well. Let me know how it goes.

    • randy 9:05 pm on November 19, 2006 Permalink

did you have to beat up any teenagers for that? the answer better be ‘yes’.

    • Tyler 9:31 pm on November 19, 2006 Permalink

If by “beat up” you mean “freeze with” the yes.

    • Laura 11:46 am on November 20, 2006 Permalink

I chose to wait in line at the indoor ToysRus at Yonge and Eglinton. Got cozy with a warm cup of Timmy’s tea, and the Sunday Star while Ty froze his toes off (ya…they came right off!!) at Future Shop. Sweet deal! It’s a good thing the cute kids behind me in line got a Wii as well because if not,I don’t know if I could have dealt with their sad kid faces.

    • Tyler 11:49 am on November 20, 2006 Permalink

I would have rubbed it in the kid’s faces and told them that if their parents really loved them they would have been in line earlier.

    • cc 12:38 pm on November 20, 2006 Permalink

      haha.. atta boy, Ty!
Did you guys get any other games while you were at it?

    • drew 1:52 pm on November 20, 2006 Permalink

Color me impressed…and so very jealous.

    • Tyler 2:28 pm on November 20, 2006 Permalink

Atta girl Laura, she did the work. I just stood outside in the cold for no reason.

    • scott 3:52 pm on November 20, 2006 Permalink

“I just stood outside in the cold for no reason”

No, just think of it as you being the decoy. All the people probably thought that if you were getting a Wii at Future Shop, it was the place to be! That left Laura free and clear to hit up Toys ‘R Us. Sneaky Ty, very, very sneaky!!!

    • Tyler 4:24 pm on November 20, 2006 Permalink

True, it was all an elaborate ruse to win the day.

    MacAppADay

There’s been a number of Mac-app focused contests/promotion sites recently.

Maczot – The oldest, I’ve bought a few apps from this site already.
MyDreamApp – The people’s contest to have your dream app built.
MacHeist – By the dudes behind MyDreamApp, solve a mystery, get some apps.
And the most recently live, MacAppADay. This is the easiest one. Go to the site every day in December and get an app. Done and done.

    Verbal puns FTW!!!11!

Kogon, Matt and I took in Cut Chemist and (part of) Lyrics Born last night at the Phoenix.

I loves me some DJing and turntablin’ but Cut Chemist is in a league of his own. I was basically in amazement all show. And that boy can put together tight grooves.

The night was only marred by some jackass shadowboxing the back of a tiny little hipster girl. Maybe shadowboxing is the 2006 version of dipping a girl’s hair in your inkwell, beats me.

    I’m a 7 out of 10.

According to the “Answer these questions and we’ll rate your Ultimate Frisbee skill” robot, I’m a 7 / 10.

Luckily you can change it. I set my rating to 1,000,000 Sexy+++.
