When we last saw our hero he was sucking wind after doing this:
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes of:
- 5 burpees
- 10 Ball Slams (16lbs)
- 15 Box Jumps (24 inch height box) – ouch
I did 8 rounds + 5 burpees + 10 ball slams + 14 box jumps on July 23.

Certain Shaw Customers in a panic: If this helps -
At 11:35 this morning, I called Bell ExpressVu. Customer service representative knew nothing about Setanta. I persisted, and after 12 minutes he came back and said that his Supervisors had indicated that there was no final deal with Setanta and that “down the road” we may have information. I told the Rep. that the Channel was supposed to be up and running today by 10:00 am and that it would be on Channel 420.
I was told that my facts were wrong, and that he was in possession of the latest information.
24 minutes later, Bell ExpressVu activated channel 420 with a notation that the channel will go “live” on August 11.
The moral to this story. The customer reps know nothing. They’re ill-advised. Give it time. If the news came out only today, it’ll take a day to have it filtered down. Hang tough. It’s happening.
CUC starts today. I’ll be heading down to catch the last game of the day. But I plan on catching everything on Saturday and Sunday. Toronto has a bunch of good teams with real shots at taking Open (GOAT), Mixed (Snipe and Monster), Womens (Capitals) and Juniors (DIRT).
Tomorrow is benchmark workout day so today was a fun day.
Two teams of 3, relay race for 10 minutes of:
- 5 35lbs Dumbbell Cleans
- Farmers Run
- 5 35lbs Dumbbell Cleans
- Farmers Run
- 5 Pull ups
We did 16 rounds.
I call Bell yesterday regarding Setanta. Apparently, they’re still negotiating the deal. I’m not optimistic that it will be available for this weekend. The August 2nd Remote Control is more optimistic than I am.
We’re missing a few good matchups:
- Sunderland at Tottenham
- ManU at Reading on Sunday
- Chelsea at Birmingham on Sunday
The Score lucked out and got West Ham at ManCity – which will be a boring game.
5 rounds of:
- 20 Double Unders – or 80 normal since I don’t have Doubles
- 15 Push Press – 35 lbs, should have been more
- 10 Atomic Situps
- 5 Burpees
11:51
I subbed rope climbs for Pullups today, ’twas fun.
Athletes for a Cure – Fight Gone Bad Fund raiser for Prostate Cancer.
Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes:
- 12 Medicine Ball Cleans (14lbs)
- 9 Ball Slams (20 lbs)
- 6 Pushups
10 rounds + 2 Cleans.
Toronto FC put in a great effort. No goals though.
Since it’s technically a holiday, I just went in and worked on Muscle-up technique – of which I currently possess none.
