Vim blogging plugin
I’ve switched to vimpress as my blogging utility.
I like it more than the web interface of wordpress. Plus is one more thing that I can do from the comfort of Vim. Beautiful vim.

I’ve been spending more and more time on Conditioning Research. It’s a good mix of fitness and nutrition talk.
Recently, there was a post about recovery, specifically active versus passive recovery. The highlights as Chris points out are:
So even if you’re not hurting and feeling good, you may not be back to your potential. The jump performance coming back last is particularly disappointing when put in the context of an Ultimate Frisbee tournament where you’re playing 4 games on a Saturday. Maybe that explains our lack of success last year. :)

I know what I’m doing tomorrow at the gym (Urban Monk from CrossFit Vancouver):
Lots of Tabata Rounds (20s on/10s off):
5 rounds each of:
Squats / rest in squat / Wallball (20#) / rest in squat
Jumping Pullups / rest / Jumping Ring Dips / rest
135# Deadlift / rest / 24kg Kettlebell swings / rest
Farmer Carry / rest with burpees / Farmer Carry / rest with burpees
Then
34 reps of your favourite exercise, I chose 24inch box jump.
34 reps for John’s 34th birthday.

Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
12 Thrusters – 65#
20 Jumping Pullups
135 thrusters and 220 pullups… not bad for 20 minutes. I had to use gloves because the bar I was using was new, and the knurling was slashing my hands up.

7 rounds for time of:
——————————
7 Wall Ball – 20#
7 SDHP – 24kg
7 Ball Slam – 20#
7 Deadlift – 135#
7 Ring Dips
7 Pullups
7 DB Power Cleans – 30# (Should have done more)
