    Scala: Silly things I’ve done.

    I had a list of objects, say like this:

    val l = List("aaa", "bbb", "ccc")

    and I wanted to produce something like this:

    <td id=IDaaa>aaa</td>
    <td id=IDbbb>bbb</td>
    <td id=IDccc>ccc</td>

    I first did this:

    l.map(u => <td id="ID" + {u}>{u}</td>)

    and that failed, unsurprisingly. That’s not even close to valid xml.

    The real way is this:

    l.map(u => <td id={"ID" + u}>{u}</td>)

    CrossFit: July 29 / 2008 – Annie – new record

    Named Workout: Annie
    Laura:
    45-35-25-15-5:
    - Double Unders
    - Situps

    9:??

    Tyler:
    50-40-30-20-10 reps of:
    - Double Unders
    - Situps

    7:15. Woop, that’s a big improvement from 10:48!

    But then watch Speal do it in 4:33. Damn robots.

      That is a ridiculous Annie time…I am still twice that. Your skipping must have come a long way from the early days.

    • Tyler Weir 3:24 pm on July 29, 2008 Permalink

      I’m quite happy. The difference that solid, consistent Double-Unders is huge.

    • Not sure about how my 24 hour fast is going to go today. Looks like it will be about 18 hours. CrossFit was grueling this morning. #
    • @paulwill I attempt one 24Hour fast a week. The stress promotes Growth Hormone release. It’s a black box experiment on my body composition. #
    • @paulwill – It doesn’t hurt, the feeling of hunger comes in waves. Water and black tea help. #
    • @paulwill Yup, the rest of my routine stays the same. :) #
    • @ryancarson Hell ya you should, it’s just hair. #

    CrossFit: July 28 / 2008

    Woo, this was pretty rough.

    120 SDHP – 45#
    120 Thrusters – 45#

    9:59. I was surprised I was under 10 minutes. I did all of the High Pulls and then all of the Thrusters. I wonder how time would be different if I did 6 rounds of 20/20? Other than the first set of HP, I was doing sets of 20 and then 10.

    I should try it again.
