My pre-order has yet to ship and I have a few concerns with Touch.
1) Lack of Mail application (gmail on the web may work instead)
2) No Google Maps application (google maps on the web may work, but goofy in comparison)
3) Inability to add Calendar events (seems like such an odd thing to not include)
My hope is that Apple will add these in future updates to the firmware.
I’d like to know the reasons for these decisions, but I’ll never know.
Took in Cassandra’s Dream at the Toronto International Film fest last night.
Woody Allen was there, he was funny and quite short.
Ewan McGregor and Colin Ferrell were also there and not much taller than Woody.
I played with another moviegoers iPhone, I did not want to give it back. I made lots of typos on the screen keyboard.
Here Apple, here’s my wallet, just give it back when you’re done.
Apple is holding an event tomorrow.
Touchscreen iPod maybe? I’ve been saving my food stamps for just such an occasion.
So Leopard will be late. Better later and better then early and buggy. But let the whining begin!

Hmm.. I’ve been spending time learning ObjC/Cocoa over the last few months. And I’m writing an application. A PDF annotation application. WTF?

I’d like to believe that all the rumors about the Google phone are really just confused rumors that Google is working on applications and tie-ins to the iPhone.
Eric Schmidt is on the Apple board currently, and he’s mentioned that they’re working on more things together.
As I mentioned, I cut together a mix for my Fartlek interval training. I did it using Rogue Amoeba’s Fission, and Apple’s Garageband. I’m not an audio dude in anyway, but it took about 40 minutes from start to finish to produce the first version of the interval mix.
I just wanted to give props to both Fission and Garageband. It was so simple to pull this off because of them.

If I had the chance to build an app for the iPhone, I’d build an old-timey rotary dial.

I too discovered the joys of DJ Steveboy, and the benefits of a soundtrack based on BPM’s. But man…can that guy quit asking for money in the first 10 min of every podcast? We’re just gonna ffwd on ya, so what are you REALLY accomplishing?

I find the mixes hit or miss, some I’ll use over and over, others I delete almost immediately.

What I can do, Matt, is stop doing the mixes entirely, especially if no one helps out with the cost of 36 TB a month that you’re eating up for nothing. Two minutes of intro for an hour of music that would cost $10 anywhere. I’m usually pretty nice about criticism, but this whining bullshit really chafes my ass. It’s FREE, Matt. What exactly do I owe you on a weekly podcast that you’re, on your own admission, benefitting by? Maybe you should buy the Nike mixes — no one talks in those.
