Here’s one I call “Fakey Filtered Tweets:”

Setup:

There exists a user: @some_topic

I (@tylerweir) follow @some_topic

@some_topic follows @tylerweir

If I send @some_topic a message, the robot that manages @some_topic retweets it, so everyone following @some_topic gets the message.

Here’s an example, for people that live in the concrete world:
For this example, @some_topic is actually @torontofc. Through my network of well placed sources (aka Google search) I know that Dwayne De Rosario has just signed for Toronto FC and I want to tell all the fans. I send a message like this:

“@torontofc – DDR just signed for us, w00t!”

@torontofc then retweets it:

“RT: @tylerweir: DDR just signed for us, w00t!”

So people that follow @torontofc and not me, get Toronto FC news that I happen to know. They also avoid the garbage that I tweet on a regular basis.

How long until this turns into a spam-reflector? Probably about 4 minutes.
