Albert Hammond Jr, who is one of the guitarists for The Strokes, has a solo album, “Yours To Keep.”
I really like it a lot, and certainly more than Pitchfork like it.

Canadian Music is coming back like it’s ’94.
They were at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal. Young and loud is my summary.
You’re going to want this cover of A-HA’s hit.
Found right here: Copy, Right?
haha that’s awesome
I love it. I’ve listened to it too many times in the past few days.
I love covers, so I hit this site a lot: http://copycommaright.blogspot.com/
Laura and I attended the Osheaga Festival this past Sunday.
We saw:
Islands: They were surprisingly good. Lots of catchy songs. A cool dynamic between the violins, bass clarinet and multiple singers.
Tokyo Police Club: Young, loud, fast music. High energy, keyboard player can’t sing.
Ben Lee: We only caught a few songs. Forgettable.
Wolf Parade: These guys are the reason we went to this festival ( and Kid Koala ). Stunning. Amazing. Way too short of a set. They had technical issues so they didn’t play a full set. It was a shame.
Kid Koala: Great as always. Played a bit from his upcoming album, “Your Mom’s favourite DJ.” They set up a camera and big screen and showed his hands during the performance. Half of the time I didn’t know what was going on.
Bedouin Soundclash: Meh for me.
Damian Marley: Meh for me.
Kid Koala ( again ): Hotness again.
The Flaming Lips: These guys are nuts. 10 santas and 10 elves on the stage the entire time, big ass orange balloons, confetti, flames, huge screen filled with crazy images. Their performance was great, the music was meh. Lead singer really likes to swear. A lot.
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals: The Innocent Criminals have gained a keyboardist and a guitarist since the last time I saw them. Great performance.
Hotel Godin We stayed at the Hotel Godin and felt like the cool kids. It was a very posh place, with great design and modern furniture. It reminded me of The Drake Hotel. I would recommend staying there.
Cool!
Yes, I am.
Who said you could stay in my hotel…get out.
I normally listen to classical when coding ( because I’m a snob ). But lately, I’ve been working with The New Deal filling my headphones.
iTunes has two of their albums up and I grabbed a few live performances from etree.
I saw TND live a bunch of times during university, so that makes me cool as well as snobby.
I finally brought Discovery back into my playlist.
Welcome back, you’re truly awesome musick.*
* – because it’s so sick! SO SICK!
Jibba jabba.
Booga Jooga
I just picked up Chulahoma by The Black Keys. It’s their tribute to Junior Kimbrough, who passed away in 1998.
Just like their other albums, this one is great.
Here’s the tracklist:
1. Keep Your Hands Off Her
2. Have Mercy On Me
3. Work Me
4. Meet Me In The City – mp3
5. Nobody But You
6. My Mind Is Ramblin’
