Oh, and Toronto FC beat Houston Dynamo 1-0 by a goal from Andy Welsh.

Toronto FC broke the ice with their first goal today. They beat Chicago Fire 3-1 in a very eventful game. I’m glad they finally scored, the atmosphere in the stadium was nuts. It was great to be there.
Mars Meets Venus, the mixed touring team I play for had our first 3 games in the TUF tournament. Things didn’t go according to plan, as we ended the day 0-3.
Game 1 was against Ottawa A, who were seeded #2 overall. They spanked us, 13-1. Ug-go-ly.
Game 2 was against London, it was marred by some jackass on their team calling fouls on most plays. I think it was 13 – 8, but it may have been worse.
Game 3 was against Quicksand from Waterloo. They were great people and we lost in the end 12 – 7.
It was fun.
I’d like to see TorontoFC play a 4-4-2 instead of a 3-5-2. We seem to be getting pulled apart as our wide midfielders aren’t getting back far enough to help out.
I’d prefer to see another dedicated defender.
Greg Sutton, again, played superbly.
Additionally, someone fire the TV announcers for the New England Revolution. No cares about your daughters learning to play soccer. No one. Shut the hell up. And shouldn’t you be impartial? Instead of rooting for the Revolution? Jackasses.
I sent this to feedback@mlsnet.com:
I was disappointed that the TV commentators for the TorontoFC at New England Revolution were clearly biased towards the Revolution.
I would expect that impartiality would be a requirement for announcers.
Thanks,
Tyler
The MLS “Game First” initiatives look like a great idea.
One of the issues I have with watching MLS games is the lack of crowd noise. Hopefully, we can change that this year.
PS. I’m vibrating with excitement. It begins this Saturday.
YA NEW SCARVES!! Anything that will keep my neck warm is a welcome addition to the household, especially if it’s totally stylin’ to boot!
They are the hotness.
Looking for xmas presents for my three grandchildren. The TC Scarves look fine but I’m not as keen on the model. He’s probably too expensive. Where can I buy the scarves “a la carte” at this time of year? Any hints? jordan
Jordan, I would give Toronto FC a call at 416-360-GOAL (4625). The scarf I’m wearing is the U-Sector fan scarf, the official TFC scarves are a bit different.

Announcers are like politicians. They can pretty much say what they like. I mean, like, how boring would it be if they just stuck to monotones and stats the whole game, eh? It is the d*** referees that need to be impartial!! :-)

Jim, I’m with you on the refs, but I still think the announcers should be less of the homers they are.
