My Callahan streak ended at 2 games straight.
I almost made it 3 games straight, but I was about 4 yards out from the endzone. It’s a shame, I’m sure 3 callahans in 3 games is some sort of Guinness record worth a couple million dollars.

Hot on the heels of last weeks Callahan, I picked off another tonight.

I finally got my first indoor Callahan.
A Callahan is also the act of catching a disc on an interception in the opponent’s endzone by a defensive player for a point.

I felt I could have done more weight, but after the damage I did with the 100 reps of 85# push press, I’m going to increase the weight a bit more slowly.
During the warm-up, I put on the 25 lbs weight vest and knocked off 7 pullups. I’ve decided that I’m going to start subbing in different exercises during the warm-up.
For example:
Swap weighted pullups for pullups.
Swap Knees-to-elbows for GHD situps.
Swap muscle-ups for pullups and ring dips .
Swap 45# overhead squats for air squats.
Swap burpees for ring dips.

I’m interested on the impact of 5 months of CrossFit will have on my indoor Ultimate game. Tomorrow night will be my first indoor game since starting.
This week is a rest week from CrossFit. There is a lot of research that suggests taking regular time off and maybe it’s right, who knows. I do know that the recovery time will be well received.
This past weekend I subbed for meanPeace and got to play with Josee, one of the ladies from Capitals, the #1 East Coast womens touring teams. It was a great learning experience and I should have tried to get more advice, but I didn’t want to be an ass.
And Laura took a picture of me seconds before I ripped my finger open on a nail. I’m so awesome.

I filled in for meanPeace this weekend, 1 – 2 on Saturday and 3 – 0 on Sunday.
Good tournament overall.
We finished 1 – 1 today. Better, but still on the disappointing side. There is more incentive to make 2008 not suck now.

Juniors: Backbone over DIRT
Masters: Tombstone over GLUM
CUC starts today. I’ll be heading down to catch the last game of the day. But I plan on catching everything on Saturday and Sunday. Toronto has a bunch of good teams with real shots at taking Open (GOAT), Mixed (Snipe and Monster), Womens (Capitals) and Juniors (DIRT).
